- The 215 N Market Street property was built in mid 19th century (1833). The Georgian-revival style structure was home to a local merchant in the city of Petersburg.
- The building fell in to disrepair in during the 1960's and was restored to its original luster in the late 20 th century
- The building is located in the Courthouse district of Petersburg just minutes from the historic downtown shops and restaurants. At the end of the 20th century the Marks and Harrison law firm used the building.
- Now in its third century (2008), the Slaughter-Tatum house was purchased by the Bandy family and again updated to make full use of all the space. The building now holds the headquarters for the BandyWorks firm which manages the different Bandy family holdings and oversees its off-shore operations in India. In addition to the management team, the Virginia based development team works here.
